Placements for Student Counsellors and Counsellors
CPF Counselling Croydon offers training placements to suitable students who have started, or are about to start, the second year of an approved psychodynamic training course.
Counselling students from integrative courses who have a particular interest in working psychodynamically will also be considered.
In addition, we offer supervised counselling experience and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) to qualified counsellors, enabling them to work towards accreditation with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) on completion of 450 hours of supervised practice.
We offer training workshops, for counsellors and student counsellors, which cover aspects of the clinical practice and concepts we feel necessary to your development as a Psychodynamic Counsellor. We also occasionally run in-house training for our experienced counsellors to enable them to benefit from in-house training in Client Assessment and Time-limited counselling.
All counsellors are also invited to attend counsellors’ meetings, which take place four times a year and offer the opportunity to be part of the CPF Counselling Community, as a well as having a direct line to the Executive Committee via two counsellor representatives.
Placement open days
From time to time CPF has open days, usually on a Saturday, to enable students or counsellors looking for a placement to see the centre and to talk to the Counselling Coordinator and the Recruitment and Training Officer.
